Eric Mcconaty 's Story

There was a time when I felt completely buried in work—constantly reacting instead of leading, second-guessing my decisions, and barely keeping up with the endless demands. As a federal employee, I was juggling responsibilities, putting out fires left and right, and stretched so thin that no matter how hard I worked, I never seemed to make real progress.

I started asking myself—Is this just how work is supposed to feel? Overwhelmed, uncertain, and always behind? Deep down, I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s when I leaned on my Army experience—where success isn’t left to chance. It’s built on strategy, standardization, communication, and discipline. I realized that, just like military operations, businesses need clear systems, repeatable processes, a way to keep people informed, and a mission-driven approach to scale successfully. So, I put those principles into action in my own division:

We standardized repeatable tasks so nothing fell through the cracks.
We clarified our mission so every decision had direction.
We streamlined our operations, which freed up time and boosted efficiency.
We developed a system to keep our stakeholders and customers informed—and kept ourselves top of mind.

The results were undeniable—our division became the gold standard in the organization. And that’s when it hit me: small business owners need this same structured approach to break free from daily chaos and scale without burnout.

I put it to the test with my wife, a small business owner, who was feeling the same pressure—long hours, constant problem-solving, and that nagging feeling that her business owned her, not the other way around. We applied the same systems and strategies, and almost immediately, everything changed. With clear processes, streamlined operations, targeted marketing, and structured priorities, her revenue increased, she served more clients, and—most importantly—she got her time back. Seeing this transformation up close, I knew I had to take this beyond just my own experience—I had to help others do the same.

That’s when I launched into business coaching. What started as one-on-one coaching quickly grew into Tactical Growth Strategies—a full-scale coaching practice that gives entrepreneurs every tool they need to run their business like a well-oiled machine. Through coaching, workshops, customized courses, and practical resources, I help business owners:
